How to get to Pidurangala rock from Colombo

Car

The full journey takes only approximately 3 hr 37 min (180.8 km)via Ambepussa - Kurunegala - Trincomalee road, but it depends on road traffic conditions.

Bus

You can take a bus from the Colombo central bus stand.

Colombo - Anuradhapura (Bus No 15), Colombo - Polonnaruwa (Bus No 48) or Colombo - Trinco (Bus No 49) Get off at Habarana or Dambulla. From there you have to take the Sigiriya bus from Dambulla or Habarana or a taxi or tuk-tuk to Pidurangala. Journey may take around 4 to 5 hours.

Train

Take a train to Habarana, from there take a taxi or tuk-tuk to Pidurangala rock. Journey may take around 4 to 5 hours. It's recommended to check the train schedule and book tickets, especially during peak times.
