The best time to visit Pasikuda Beach is during the dry season from May to September. During these months the east coast of Sri Lanka experiences minimal rainfall, the weather is warm, dry, and sunny, and the sea is calm, making it ideal for swimming, snorkeling, and diving. The off-season from October to April may bring occasional rain and rougher seas due to the northeast monsoon, so it's danger for water activities.

How to reach Pasikuda beach from Colombo

Car

The full journey takes approximately 6 hr 20 min (298 km) via A11, but it depends on road traffic conditions.

Bus

You can take a bus from the Colombo central bus stand to Batticaloa. Get down at Batticaloa, from there you have to take a taxi, tuk-tuk to Pasikuda beach.

Colombo - Batticaloa(Bus No 48) and the journey may take around 9 - 10 hours. From there you have to take a taxi or tuk-tuk to Pasikuda beach.

Train

You can take a train from the Colombo Fort railway station to Batticaloa, and the journey may take around 8 - 9 hours. It's recommended to check the train schedule and book tickets, especially during peak times. From there you have to take a taxi or tuk-tuk to Pasikuda beach.
