Car
The full journey takes only approximately 4 hr 3 min (207 km) via Ambepussa - Kurunegala - Trincomalee road, but it depends on road traffic conditions.
Bus
You can take a bus from the Colombo central bus stand, to Kalmunai or Jaffna.
Colombo - Kalmunai (Bus No 22) Get off at Habarana or Dambulla. From there you have to take a taxi or tuk-tuk to Minneriya park. Journey may take around 3 to 4 hours.
Train
Take a train to Habarana, from there take a taxi or tuk-tuk to Minneriya park. Journey may take around 4 to 5 hours. It's recommended to check the train schedule and book tickets, especially during peak times.
